My Review Of Tarte’s Babassu Foundcealer™

TARTE babassu foundcealer™ skincare foundation

I was very fortunate that Tarte sent me their new babassu Foundcealer to try out before it launched. I spent a few days testing it and wearing it different ways. I was very impressed with the Foundcealer and it has become a new favorite.

My Review

Before & After

Wow! This foundation felt so good on, and the color match was great for me. Like the other foundations I have from Tarte, I used color: 22S light sand. I was able to get good coverage (medium) with just two pumps. Right before I received the foundation, I had an acne breakout. You can still see some of my bumps after I applied foundcealer, I used two pumps for the photos, but I was happy with how it covered them. I did try building up the coverage with an extra 1/2 pump one day, and it is build-able if you want a little more coverage. My acne also did not flair up while I used the foundcealer. It continued to improve!

The foundcealer held up well throughout the day, holding stronger on my chin than my other foundations. It still cracked around my nose, but that was at the very end of the day. A lot of foundations I have used I can start feeling them at the end of the day. With foundcealer it felt good all day.

I tried wearing this many different ways, but my favorite was putting on Tarte's Mermaid Skin after washing my face  with their Deep Dive Cleansing Gel and then putting the foundcealer on with a sponge. No primer, no moisturizer.

What shades are you in other popular foundations (Mac, revlon etc..)?

I don’t remember, sorry. I’ve been using only Tarte products for the last year.
