Mom Hacks

Who doesn’t love a good mom hack?!

I wanted to share with you a few tips or “mom hacks” that have made my life as a mom little easier!

Mom Hack 1: When you go to the movies there is nothing better than their popcorn! We always get a large and share it between the four of us, but passing the tub back and forth is not fun. And there is always the chance one of the kids will spill it. So I picked up these cute cups in the party section, they come in many different characters. This makes sharing a lot easier and they can be used at home. These are my kids favorite cups to drink out of too.

Hack 2: This idea has made packing school lunches so much easier! I took a shoe organizer and filled each pouch with chips, fruit, fruit snacks, and a drink. The kids pick what pouch they want and then all they need is their sandwich! It also helps us not to eat what we buy for their lunches.

Hack 3: One thing I do as soon as I get home from grocery shopping is portion out the meat into meals. My food saver has become a life saver! See what I did there? 😉  With my ground meats I put them in the bag and then I roll them flat. This makes it freeze faster and therefore thaw out faster.

Keep an eye out for more of my Mom Hacks!

Movie Night & Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows

My little man was super excited that we got the chance to review the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie Out of the Shadows! He is all about everything TMNT and so I decided to make it into a fun family movie night!

The movie came with two masks that were reversible. To get into the spirit of the night the adults wore the masks that came with the movie while the kids grabbed brother’s to wear.

For dinner I didn’t go with the obvious, pizza. Instead I made hamburger’s that looked like Mikey. It was super easy and I thought they turned out really cute!

The kids loved them!

The kids were TMNT from head to toe. Then helped me make snacks for the movie.

During the movie I heard a lot of:

“Wow!”

“So cool!”

“Awesome!”

along with their laughter.

Out of the Shadows held both kids’ attention the whole time! This was their first TMNT movie, only seeing the cartoon, and little man was pointing everyone out right away. There were several things I remember from watching back in the day with my cousins. I have to say this was a big success and this movie will be watched many many times at our house. Both kids were very impressed with the turtle’s truck, and I think it’s safe to say that it will be on little man’s Christmas list! That scene was a favorite. My daughter really liked April’s part in the movie. We spent most of breakfast the next day talking about their favorite parts and you could see by their faces that they really loved it.  Little man is already asking to watch it again. And my husband, who is known for falling asleep during movies, stayed awake the whole time.

This movie got 5 STARS from the Sanders family!
