Dragon fruit smoothies are amazing and I’m hooked.

Pitaya, or dragon fruit, is a tropical, delicious superfood that’s rich in antioxidants. The fruit aids in weight loss, boosts immunity (it’s rich in vitamin C), helps with digestion, and lowers cholesterol. It’s super easy to make a smoothie with this colorful, bright fruit.

It’s similar to a kiwi in texture with seeds in the meat. However, dragon fruit has less sugar and fewer carbs and calories, according to Healthline.com 

It has vitamins C, B1, B2, and B3, which helps with skin health, blood pressure, and even thyroid function.

Where can I get dragon fruit?

If fresh dragon fruits aren’t available in your grocery store, check out the freezer section. You can ask the store manager if they can supply it. Pitaya Plus is a great product that freezes the already blended fruit. It’s available in cubes as well.

The smoothie recipe I used was simple and fast.

  • 1 packet pitaya plus
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1/4 ripe banana
  • 4 large strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened Greek yogurt
  •  3/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 kiwi (for decor)

There are endless possibilities for different recipes. Next time I’ll make a smoothie bowl with thicker consistency. Let me know in the comments below if you have tried and like dragon fruit.

Disney’s Descendants – Evie’s S’mores Dip Recipe

A twist on the classic S’mores!

With Descendants 2 coming out very soon I wanted to make a snack themed to the movies. With Evie being my daughters favorite, she was our inspiration. Since it’s summer what is better than a s’more? To make it movie friendly I decided to turn it into a dip and came up with Disney’s Descendants – Evie’s S’mores Dip! It was super easy to make and my daughter, who is 9, did almost everything by herself (with my help being with the oven). It was a big hit and something both my kids are already asking for again.

You can change up the color of the sugar to go along with any theme or do it without the colored sugar for an adult get together!

You will need:


Chocolate Bars

Colored Sugar (we used red, blue, and yellow for Evie)

Bowl Of Water

Graham Crackers

  1. Line the bottom of your dish, I used an 8×8, with the chocolate bars

  2. Dip a marshmallow in water then coat it with the

           colored sugar

  3. Cut marshmallows in half and place them on top of the chocolate

  4. Bake at 450° for 8 minutes

5. Brake the graham crackers into 4ths for easier dipping
